It would strongly appear that way after X05 last year and E3 this year, it’s looking more like companys are learning the fact… the ps3 and 360 are gonna have very strong #’s for a very long time so the most profitable way to make money is crossplatforming. GameInformer had an interview with some of the UBIsoft execs and it appears that one of the Sony fanbases favorite games that was subject to that x05 and e3 fiasco … namely, Assassins Creed has been verified to be coming to both the 360 and ps3 (multiplatform).
On top of that GameInformers last issue dropped the bomb that the highly anticipated Enemy Territory quake Wars is also going to be a cross platform game launching on not only the ps3 but the 360 as well. This has got my mind ticking at what Microsoft is doing. They need something strong come the end of 2006 to counter the ps3 launch they already have Gears Of War and some other good looking games but a flood of news out of the tokyo game show and X06 about games that were thought to be ps3 exclusives ending up being for the ps3 and 360 could radically change the footing of the nextgen gaming launch outlook.
If microsoft can nail a few big suprises like officially announcing assassins creed and quake wars with some killer game footage, and follow that up with something like … i don’t know FFXII and FFXIII they could litterally squash sony’s launch. There are so many secrets in the gaming industry and behind the scenes workings its insane. Only time will tell what Microsoft really has up its sleave come holiday 2006.
