Unreal Tournament 2007 for 360, totally plausable :)

Midway announced today that Unreal Tournament 2007 will be delayed until 2007. That in itself is no big deal. The big news was something quite suttle in the discussion where they let on some small suggestive hints beyond the “it’s for ps3″

“The next gen version(s) have yet to be tagged with an exact ship date yet”

The parenthetical “S” says it all. Not version, VERSIONS, folks. When asked directly whether or not this confirmed the development of a 360 version of UT 2007, an Atari spokesman respondedly with a sentence very familiar to those of us watching the Assassin’s Creed for the 360 info thats been coming in spurts and guesses and rumors.

“Nothing is yet confirmed … [but] I would say that your assumption is relatively plausible”

Sounds like a yes to me, and pretty much everybody else, add this on top of the fact that UT2007 is still on TeamXbox’s site and they are saying that “theirs a reason” they are still reporting on UT2007 and they just cant say anything yet.

Personally i’ll say it now and we can have a flashback later, UT2007, Assassin’s Creed, and probably more, WILL BE for the 360, and this year at X06 is going to be quite interesting.

Edit: MCV and Richard Trevosham from Microsoft Xbox Europe had some interesting words, beyond finally throwing some stones in the direction of Sony and Nintendo. But then he mentioned, that Xbox had some big suprises in store for us this Q4 but he couldn’t say more about it. If you combine this with the all the rumored 360 games that are under current “No Comment” conditions and the fact Microsoft has said the dashboard will be updated 2 times a year (only once so far this year) that means perhaps and Internet Explorer and some other small stuff that we’ve been asking for to combat the ps3 online service. The fact is with all the game rumors and X06 and TGS approaching they really are gonna put a squash on the Sony/Nintendo launch flames. The question is, is this “no comment” style of holding off game announcements going to be a trend for the future of the 360?
