Seems so according to engadget, beyond the fact to get a QVGA version of a video you already paid for you have to pay again for the higher quality version it appears atleast some of the videos are not encodes from the original high quality source instead they are just upscalled 320×240 videos … that are stretched. So more MB + Less quality = more money? Just doesn’t seem to make sense to me… (Example image comparisons at the source)
Personally after seeing you have to re-purchase the videos just to get the higher quality that would have been the end of my iTunes experience… For those of you looking for VERY good quality video, that also includes low quality for mobile players, go over and check out Amazon’s Unbox service, its cost effective, and you get awesome video without any weird catches like needing to rebuy different versions or sneaky resizing tactics.
