Sony rushes to market and forgets key early MS mistakes?

You know Microsoft has had a year to review and fix its system software and perfect the dashboard and we have seen constant updates, increased chat support, background downloading and a bevy of other enhancements, mainly all derived from user complaints or feature requests. Now one would think that sony would have been listening this past year that they took as extra time on their development to perhaps do those same type of upgrades on their dashboard so as to not gain critisism for being steps behind microsoft still.

One of the big features that keeps getting fonned over is the PS3 store, you’ll remember my complaints that everytime a story reviews ps3’s “online features” they didnt review the online matchmaking etc it was always just the store. Well the boys over arstechnica thought it was pretty but extremely lacking. They said it felt like it was designed for a PC slow and cumbersome, but most importantly it lacked a HUGELY important feature that Microsoft added this past year… BACKGROUND DOWNLOADING! Ars noticied when they downloaded a demo that the only available button to them was a cancel button, so they couldn’t move on to watch a bluray movie, play a game, send a message or anything just sit their and stair at the blue progress bar creep across.

This is really a sad fact, the system had a day 1 firmware upgrade to fix some unknown bug, and then its missing ingame messaging, no video support, poorly supported multiplayers (THP8/VT anyone?), and now the store is slow and locks you in to wait for the download.

NO DO NOT GIVE ME THIS CRAP that microsoft didnt have it at launch either… no they didnt but then again MICROSOFT DIDNT LAUNCH A F*CKING YEAR LATE EITHER! A can’t see how fanboys are paying 2000-9000$ for ps3’s on ebay, when their dashboard is antiqued compaired to the 360, every single head to head game review has the 360 beating the ps3 and on top of that the exclusives are also getting only “decent” reviews, resistence was supposed to be the killer app and apparently it equates to about a COD3 not a GOW.
