HDDVD puts Bluray in the sleeper hold and refuses to budge

Well I just got an interesting bit of information, you know how Blu-ray ever so often gets an exclusive that you wan’t but your like me and have thrown your hat 100% behind HDDVD. Well it turns out that theirs a bit of a reprieve when it comes in the way that apparently some BD movies that are released exclusive in the US happen to also be released overseas in a HDDVD flavour!  Most interestingly is the fact that this includes movies from Disney, Sony, Fox and several others and that they are available in several countries and sites from around the world.

What makes this so wonderful is the fact that HD DVD is region-free so that means you can order the HDDVD version from somewhere like Xploited Cinema and never have to worry about if it will work or not on your player, it just will work from the get go considering the fact that the HDDVD camp had the great thinking to be fully region free! All i know is that i’ve got some definite buying to do.

Apparently the same holds true in reverse atleast to some extent for bluray from overseas for hddvd exclusives, but things arent as chipper for the bluray owners, because blu-ray unlike hddvd is not fully region free so you’ll have to work out which regions and discs will actually work on your players, maybe you should have saved some money and bought a hddvd player, then you’d have some extra cash for those regionfree movies as well as the cool features that bluray players still can’t due (since the BD 1.1 hasn’t been rolled out yet and god knows when it ever will)
