Now as I might have made notice before I’m a heavy HD-DVD supporter. ya bluray has a tiny bit more space possible in the future, but as it comes to video, HDDVD has the price point and it has the iHD layer support that makes it worthwhile and properly done.
Last week you might recall that HDDVD fell below the $200 price point for a player, and even some places has $99.99 hddvd players during black friday so we all know that price point will be coming soon as well. But for those people still holding onto the bluray camp for whatever reason, even though it’s all fractured and the whole BD+ standard is in disarray. This news might be something your interested in. Samsung’s BD-P1400 has hit the market for under 300$ at Amazon now for $298.76 a bit of an odd price but the fact is it supports 1080p24, DDP, TrueHD, DTS HD, HDMI 1.3 and 1080p DVD upconversion. (Though early reviews still say that the HDDVD camps upconverting is done better.)
Also don’t forget bluray is giving away 5 free movies with their player (though also don’t forget that HDDVD if you hunt hard enough you can get 12 free movies)
